- Use a screw on 4.5 butane regulator with this cylinder.
What is the difference between Propane and Butane gas ?
LPG boils to produce gas (vapour):
- Propane boils at -42°C so can be used in arctic conditions.
- Butane boils at -0.5°C so when the ambient temperature falls to around freezing no gas is produced and even at around +4°C the pressure is often too low to be useful.

Wasn't this bottle discontinued by Calor gas, how come you have got bottles to sell, I was told that they didn't do this size anymore
Hello, thank you for your question. You are quite right, Calor Gas, discontinued the 4.5Kg butane cylinder. However 12 months later, they changed their minds, and from 2024 we have had cylinders that we can now sell once again, so you can buy a refill, if you have a 4.5kg cylinder to exchange or you can also buy a new cylinder. The supply has been fairly good, with only one week where Calor could not supply the refills. Hope that helps, Kind regards Clare

Are the gas bottles full of gas when you buy them for the price it say thanks richard
Hello, thank you for your question, the gas bottle refill price is for an exchange cylinder full of gas, therefore if you bring your 4.5 kg calor empty bottle in to store, you pay £33.00, and we give you a full Calor 4.5kg with gas back. If you don't have a Calor Bottle, you can buy a new cylinder, but you will have to pay a Hire charge, which on a 4.5 kg is £49.99, so your first cylinder is £82.99 with gas, each time you need a refill on your 4.5kg, you then pay the refill price of £33.00.
Information and prices correct as at 30.08.24, please be aware different Calor bottles attract different hire charges from Calor gas. Hope this helps, Kind regards Clare
