The middle sized cylinder in the Butane range of Calor Bottles. Good sized bottle for camping or caravanning. This size calor gas bottle will fit inside a Caravan gas bottle locker. Will fit inside most mobile gas heaters. This gas bottle is Butane and therefore uses a 21mm clip on regulator.

  • Ideal for summer caravanning and portable heaters
  • Regulator type: 21mm Clip on Butane
  • Recommended Offtake: 7 kW (0.5 kg/h)

What is the difference between Propane and Butane gas ?

LPG boils to produce gas (vapour):

  • Propane boils at -42°C so can be used in arctic conditions.
  • Butane boils at -0.5°C so when the ambient temperature falls to around freezing no gas is produced and even at around +4°C the pressure is often too low to be useful.

  • Can I buy a 7kg butane bottle without an empty to swap

    Hello,

    Thank you for your enquiry. 

    Please note that all Calor gas cylinders are subject to a one-time cylinder hire charge. For a 7kg Butane gas bottle, the current cylinder hire charge is £49.99. 

    In addition to the cylinder hire charge, you will need to purchase the gas refill, which is currently priced at £36.70. Therefore, the total cost for your initial purchase will be £86.69.

    For any subsequent exchanges, you will only be required to pay the refill charge of £36.70, provided you return your empty Calor cylinder.

     All prices include VAT.

    Please note that all prices and policies are correct as of 1 June 2026. Calor is currently restricting supply on certain cylinders within its range; however, the 7kg Butane cylinder is not currently affected by these restrictions.

  • I have 4.5kg bottle can I swap it for 7kg bottle

    Hello, Thank you for your question.
    The current policy with Calor Gas, as at 16.07.23,  you can exchange a CALOR Butane 4.5kg for a CALOR Butane 7kg.
    You will therefore pay the refill price on the 7kg when you exchange over your 4.5kg.
    PLEASE BE AWARE: This only applies to CALOR GAS bottles, and the 4.5kg cylinder ONLY
    If you are changing to a 7kg, the regulator is different, and the bottle is phyiscally bigger.
